EXCITING PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS!

Ruach Ha’Aretz sets the standard for fabulously fun and creative programs for children. It’s an exciting, joyful, and nurturing Jewish renewal experience filled with music, play, sports, crafts and davvening as a deeply personal expression. An inclusive and participatory program for teens is also an integral part of the Ruach experience.

Older teens may also choose to attend any of the adult classes and workshops. Children and teens at Ruach Ha’Aretz enjoy a balance of their own activities, and opportunities to be fully integrated into the greater Ruach Community during mealtimes, recreation time, evening programs and Shabbat.

This year, Ruach Ha'Aretz is thrilled to have Rabbi Bonnie Sharfman join our staff as Director of our program for children and teens.

Rabbi Bonnie Sharfman holds rabbinic ordination from the Academy for Jewish Religion, LA. Prior to her career as a congregational rabbi, Rabbi Sharfman was the founding Head of School of Pardes Jewish Day in the Phoenix area, a position that she held for over a decade until entering rabbinical school. She served as Director of Education of Temple Solel in Paradise Valley, Arizona for 16 years, creating and expanding their preschool program, building an accredited religious school program, and was responsible for innovative family and adult education programs. She has rich experience working with youth groups and Jewish camping programs as a rabbi and Jewish educator. She was president of PARDeS, the Progressive Association of Reform Day Schools, chair of both Family Education and School Accreditation for the National Association of Temple Educators, has published curricular materials for use in supplementary religious schools, and is the recipient of various awards and recognition in the field of Jewish education.

Rabbi Sharfman is the rabbi of Kehillah of Arizona – A Community of Caring Jews and is part of the STAR PEER Rabbinic Executive Leadership program, also serving as Secretary of the Board of Rabbis of Greater Phoenix.
